KENNESAW, GeorgiaCarrier Abound, a division of Carrier Global Corp., has received a 2025 Sustainability Leadership Award from the Business Intelligence Group. The award highlights the company’s use of data-driven tools to improve building operations, including energy management, predictive maintenance, and refrigerant emissions reduction.

Over the past year, Carrier Abound has worked with multi-site retailers to monitor and optimize performance across more than 33,000 stores worldwide. Reported results include more than 667 million kWh in energy savings, reduced truck rolls, and lower refrigerant leakage.

One North American retailer identified refrigerant leaks across approximately 5,300 rooftop units between May and September 2024. Timely interventions helped prevent the release of more than 161,000 pounds of refrigerant, maintaining equipment health while reducing environmental impact.

“We are honored and proud to receive the 2025 Sustainability Leadership Award,” said Yasir Qureshi, general manager, Carrier Abound. “This recognition further strengthens our purpose and reflects our deep commitment to creating a lasting impact – for our customers, for the future generations to come, and for the world we share.”

For HVACR contractors, tools like Carrier Abound’s AI- and IoT-based platform point to a shift in how building systems are managed. By aggregating performance data from connected equipment, contractors can be alerted to issues earlier, reducing emergency calls and unnecessary truck rolls. The approach also ties service providers more closely to sustainability goals such as reducing refrigerant emissions and improving equipment efficiency — areas of increasing importance for both customers and regulators.

The Sustainability Leadership Awards, now in their 10th year, recognize organizations advancing net-zero strategies, climate equity, and AI-powered building management.
