Glendale, AZ, August 15, 2018) – Forrest Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. reported that its president, Audrey Monell, has been recognized for excellence in business and leadership, dedication to her community and support of other women. The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce named Monell one of three finalists for the 2018 ATHENA Young Professional Award.
The ATHENA awards highlight three women each year who are at the top of their field, demonstrating excellence and initiative, while also helping other women succeed by serving as a role model, mentor and servant of the community.
Sources report Monell, 34, is crossing boundaries within the specialty construction trade, a traditionally male-dominated industry. As president of Forrest Anderson, Monell introduced new technologies for greater efficiencies, established an open culture of communication and removed barriers to help employees succeed.
Monell is dedicated to empowering other women. She hosted a 2018 Women in Industry workshop to introduce young adults to the trades, and became vice-president of the Executive Women’s International Phoenix Chapter, 2018- 2019.Monell also volunteers within the community, and raised her daughter to understand the value of giving back.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized with all the finalists who embrace the ATHENA spirit to aim high and use their success to empower other women to achieve their dreams,” said Audrey Monell, President of Forrest Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. “This is especially meaningful because my success is a reflection of my mother’s unwavering guidance and support which emboldened me to reach great heights, inspire others and carry on her legacy of servant leadership.”
Monell has proudly led the team at Forrest Anderson since 2008, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Economics from Arizona State University. Since taking over the 57-year old family business, Monell increased revenue 23 percent, by developing new processes, launched a continuing education program for employees, implemented a successful digital marketing campaign and achieved an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
